From 29 March – 07 April 2014,  an influential group of bloggers, filmmakers, photographers and social media experts—known as Storytellers (— joined the Contiki’s sustainability partner Céline Cousteau on a VIP conservation trip, based on the brand’s own Costa Rica Unplugged itinerary.

The group teamed up on a VIP conservation trip, based on Contiki’s 12-day Costa Rica Unplugged itinerary, with Contiki’s sustainability partner Céline Cousteau – a documentary filmmaker, environmental activist and granddaughter of Jacques Cousteau. The Storytellers took to Torteuguero Beach for two nights to track leatherback turtles, protect their nests from poachers in the area and were lucky enough to witness the incredible nesting process of two leather back turtles.

  1. That is so neat that you can follow them on their journey through their social media accounts. I truly hope they can make a difference. Sea turtles are such peaceful beautiful creatures and our efforts really do help wildlife.

  2. This is very interesting. I have never heard of that before. I’m almost out of the age range and wished I had heard of it before.

  3. Wow! now this would be a really awesome trip going to the beach and tracking turtles and to protect them from poachers..I never heard of poachers poaching for turtles..but it sounds like a great trip.

  4. Okay, that is way cool! I’m not over 50, yet…I’d be in that 40range, but all of that sound fantastic and I’m a story teller myself, so I know I’d be a happy camper

  5. It sounds so interesting. It would be such an experience for all who are involved. Life time memories. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I love to travel. But with 4 kids, getting out of the country seems impossible, at least for the next 12 years til my baby is 18!

  7. What an exciting experience for the selected storytellers. I would love to go on a tour. I am single and think a group trip would be fun.

  8. Great stories do inspire awesome travel. Some of our best travels have come from stories of other people before us who’d been there.
