Mercato Centrale at Bonifacio Global City in cooperation with the Organic Producers and Trade Association (OPTA), one of the leading advocates of organic farming and agriculture in the county will launch the Producers’ Market, the organic and all-natural section of Mercato Centrale this Saturday, October 8, 7 AM to 2 PM.
In the market landscape where there is an abundance of options for food, people are in a constant pursuit for finds that assures them of not only quality but also taste. And with the growing trend towards healthy-living, it is definitely difficult to find a market in the city where you can find a regular supply of freshly-harvested and truly certified organic produce and products to support a healthy lifestyle. Thus, with a thrust for providing not only flavorful but also premium food, Mercato Centrale worked together with OPTA to develop the Producers’ Market – the best place in the city where you can find organic and all-natural produce and meat products.
In cooperation with OPTA, as well as in compliance with the Organic Agricultural Act of 2010, Mercato Centrale ensures the public that what they will be buying and eating is nutritional and fresh. Devoted to selecting only merchants that have been proven and awarded with the insignia of selling true organic food, OPTA will showcase products that are free from GMOs and synthetic processes that may be harmful to health. These products have been carefully selected through a rigorous process of verification that involves three levels, all of which geared toward the approval of branding these products as organic.
The event will host merchants such as Amsis Farms that offer organic lettuce, romaine, plus other vegetables, as well as Pamora Farm, forerunners of free-range chicken. Gawad Kalinga will also be present with its specialty goat cheeses made by social entrepreneurs alongside the KAPPIA Network and its organic Muscovado sugar, organic honey from wild bees of Abra, and organic sugarcane vinegar. In addition, Souq International will also be part of the event with its pure Argan oil and other organic cooking products, Milea and their organic/natural mineral make up, plus Human Nature and its organic/all-natural beauty and household products. The launch will be hosted by one of the co-founders of Mercato Centrale, Rj Ledesma, followed by the program proper presided over by the president of OPTA, Mr. Tony De Castro. Also gracing the program is our Agriculture Undersecretary Berna Romulo-Puyat. Don’t miss out on this wondrous event as they tackle everything organic and highlight the synergy of the Mercato Centrale team and OPTA.
